About this experience

Epupa Falls is a series of waterfalls on the Kunene River at Epupa in Namibia's remote Kunene Region, on the border with Angola, where the river tumbles across about 1.5 kilometres with the largest single drop near 37 metres. Framed by makalani palm groves, baobabs, fig trees and colorful rock walls, the site supports endemic aquatic species and its name comes from the Herero word for foam. Access is remote, with four-wheel-drive roads from Opuwo, and visitors commonly explore the cascades on short walks, visit nearby Himba villages, or stay at one of the camps and lodges beside the river.
